SNAFELLSJOKULL


The 1446m, three-pronged peak of Snaefellsjokull was created when the volcano beneath the glacier exploded and collapsed into the magma chamber, forming a caldera. Although there are no reports of eruptions during the human history of Iceland, it is not yet considered extinct.
