TAJ MAHAL OTHER BUILDINGS

Shown here are all the other side buildings that surround the Taj Mahal. I could have put them all on a page, but I thought the Taj Mahal deserved its own page showing the cruelty and abuse of the poor. :P

Even without the Taj Mahal, some of these buildings were impressive, but they just get dwarfed by the impression of the Taj Mahal. I guess that was the idea. With the beauty of the front courtyard and the garden, this is definitely a place to bring your date/wife. Well, lets just say that if you brought your date here, by the end of the trip, you're leaving married. You have been forewarned! :)

First off, lets look at the towers. There were four towers, one on each corner of the Taj Mahal monument. No idea on the significance of the towers, but she probably asked for it. Better safe than sorry. Last thing you want is your wife pissed off at you for all eternity. Not sure which tower this is, but they were all the same.

Another shot of the towers, but this one from the stairways up to the main monument. I thought the contrast was really neat. Took a while to find a moment when the other viewers weren't pushing their way up and down those stairs. A note about the stairs, there were no seams between the steps. It seemed that that whole thing was made from one piece of marble. Really cool!

Here I tried to take a picture during the day with the sun behind me. Didn't turn out too well. I guess the sunshine reflects well off the tower walls. Still a neat pic.

There are two building adjacent to the Taj Mahal. Both are identical and facing the Taj Mahal from each side. This build is the one on the left of the Taj Mahal. It's the mosque. We weren't allowed in the mosque though. My dad is already tired from the walk and heat. Poor guy has arthritis and isn't as much into the history as I was. And I'm sure he missed my mom. I missed her too. :( Quick, change the subject...

This is the other half of the twin buildings. This one was to the right of the Taj Mahal, and served as the guest quarters. Gawd, could you imagine your partner building a hotel next to your grave so people could come and visit? Isn't that the weirdest, sickest thing you've heard of? Then again, there may be a very valid reason that I'm single again. :)
