JUST OTHER PICTURES
Loaded on this page are all the other pictures that I thought
were interesting. Besides, the other pages have enough goodies on them. Not much
to say in general, so just check out the details with each pictures.
First pictures of the trip. Scene of Amsterdam from the plane window. We
were in the upper level of the Boeing 747 aircraft and the windows were a bit
off center from the seats, so it was quite a strain to take the pics with the
seat belt on. Too bad I didn't have enough time to get into the city.
Another pic of Amsterdam from the plane. Nothing much to say here.
This is a really cool vehicle. I first saw it in Spain during my trip to the
Canary islands. A smart convertible! No idea how powerful the engine is, but it
sure looks like a fun ride to take under 100 km/h. Its made by Daimler-Chrysler
(confirm?), so the workmanship must be good, as long as it's not assembled in
Mexico. :) Neat artwork. Wonder how long it would last in a Canadian winter?
An Indian version of an outside barbeque? No thanks, I'll pass. I guess its
one way to get rid of roadkill.
Most of the buildings look this way in Mumbai. I would be scared to sleep in
one of those. My tent looks more solid than that building, and I suck at putting
it up too.
Gates of India. We could only drive by it cause we had to get back to the
hotel, for yet another party. They should have moved the party to the Gates of
India. Now that would be something truly unique!
The hotel we stayed at was good for western standards, so it must have been
amazing for eastern standards. Then again, the east is comfortable with servants
and people tending to you constantly. It always made me uncomfortable. I think I
got many weird looks when I opened my own doors, carried my own bags, or
decided to do my own shopping. Yeah, they would even shop for you if you asked.
Weird.
The other side of the hotel room view. Smack in front of me was the remnants
of an abandoned hotel called the Searock. Apparently, it was a really happening
place a couple of years back. Not the best immediate view, but the shore to each
side was even more disturbing. The water from the Indian Ocean breaking onshore
was brown. Not green from vegetation, not blue from cleanliness, but brown
from....yeah, you fill in the blanks. Yeah, wouldn't swim in it for even a
MP62/S3 supercharger (my next dream toy mod).
